Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film Eetha has created a strong buzz online after its official trailer was released on October 30. A YouTube tracking report cited in media discussions showed more than 19.1 million views within around 24 hours. The figure should be checked against the latest count on Maddock Films’ official YouTube channel before publication.
The film tells the story of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, a celebrated Marathi folk performer known for her contribution to Tamasha and Lavani, traditional forms of Maharashtra’s folk entertainment. Shraddha plays the central character, appearing in traditional nine-yard sarees and Lavani performance attire.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, who previously directed Chhaava, the biographical drama explores Vithabai’s journey, artistic achievements and personal struggles. The trailer features colourful stage performances, energetic dance sequences and emotional moments from the performer’s life.
Actors Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are also part of the film’s cast. The makers have presented the project under Maddock Films and Kathputli Creations. Music for the film has been composed by Ajay-Atul.
One of the trailer’s talking points is its portrayal of an artist who continued to fight against social challenges while pursuing her passion for performance. Some viewers have also discussed the film’s powerful dialogues and Shraddha’s transformation for the role.
The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 4, 2026. Its trailer has renewed interest in the life of a folk artist whose contribution remains an important part of Maharashtra’s cultural history.
