Adding Ghee To Rotis May Support Better Blood Sugar Control Naturally Daily

Adding Ghee To Rotis May Support Better Blood Sugar Control Naturally Daily

A small amount of ghee on whole-wheat rotis may help slow carbohydrate absorption, promote satiety, and support steady energy. However, portion control and overall diet remain important, especially for people with diabetes.

For many people with diabetes, rotis are often viewed with caution because they contain carbohydrates that can raise blood sugar levels. However, nutrition experts suggest that pairing a whole-wheat roti with a small amount of ghee may offer certain benefits when included as part of a balanced diet. While ghee is not a treatment for diabetes, its healthy fats may help slow the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, leading to a more gradual rise in blood glucose after meals.

Ghee also contributes to longer-lasting satiety by combining healthy fats with the complex carbohydrates found in whole-wheat rotis. This combination may help reduce frequent hunger and unnecessary snacking, supporting better appetite management throughout the day.

Another advantage is digestive health. Ghee contains butyric acid, a short-chain fatty acid that supports gut health and may help maintain a healthy digestive system. Some people find that adding a moderate amount of ghee makes rotis easier to digest.

In addition, ghee provides fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, E, and K, along with beneficial fatty acids that contribute to overall nutrition. When consumed in moderation, it can be part of a healthy eating pattern.

However, people with diabetes should remember that portion size, total calorie intake, physical activity, and the overall quality of their diet remain the most important factors in managing blood sugar. Choosing whole-grain or multigrain rotis, pairing them with vegetables and protein-rich foods, and following medical advice are essential for maintaining good metabolic health.
