Woman Alleges Assault After Throwing Ink At Protest Leader During Demonstration

A woman who gained national attention after throwing ink at protest leader Abhijit Deepak during a demonstration at Jantar Mantar has alleged that she was violently assaulted by supporters immediately after the incident.

Speaking to the media, the woman claimed she acted independently and denied having any political affiliation. According to her, she objected to remarks allegedly made from the protest stage that she believed mocked Hindu deities, including Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. She said she responded by throwing ink at the speaker as a form of protest.

The woman further alleged that, moments after the incident, several people in the crowd attacked her. She claimed she was beaten, her hair was pulled, and she suffered scratches and bruises across her body. She also alleged that she was subjected to inappropriate physical contact during the chaos. According to her, the injuries left her in severe pain and she required police assistance to escape the crowd.

Expressing gratitude to the Delhi Police, she said officers intervened in time and escorted her to safety. She alleged that without police protection, the situation could have turned even more serious.

The ink-throwing incident occurred during a speech following police action at Jantar Mantar, where authorities had removed activist Sonam Wangchuk from the protest venue earlier in the day. The episode quickly drew widespread attention after videos of the confrontation circulated on social media, showing the woman being surrounded by protesters after throwing ink.

The allegations made by the woman have not been independently verified, and no official statement confirming or denying her claims had been issued at the time of reporting.
