Mahindra Reports Strong First Quarter Profit Driven By Automotive And Farm Growth

Mahindra & Mahindra posted a 33.6% rise in first-quarter net profit to ₹5,454.54 crore, driven by strong growth in its automotive, farm equipment and services businesses. Higher revenues and a one-time investment gain also contributed to the company's robust quarterly performance.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY2026-27, with consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders rising 33.6% year-on-year to ₹5,454.54 crore. The company's impressive earnings were supported by robust growth across its automotive, farm equipment and services businesses, along with a ₹641.33 crore gain from the sale of an investment in an associate company.

Revenue from operations increased 26.6% to ₹57,533.44 crore, compared with ₹45,435.88 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Profit before tax climbed 35.2% to ₹7,628.09 crore, while basic earnings per share improved to ₹48.80, reflecting healthy operational performance.

The automotive business remained the company's biggest growth driver, with revenue rising 32.3% to ₹34,387.25 crore. The segment also recorded a 28.3% increase in earnings, supported by continued demand across its vehicle portfolio.

Mahindra's farm equipment division also posted solid results. Revenue from the segment grew 14.8% to ₹12,500.77 crore, while segment profit increased 9.2%, highlighting stable demand in the agricultural machinery market.

The company's financial services business delivered another strong quarter, with revenue rising 14.6% and segment profit surging 78.9%. Meanwhile, its industrial and consumer services segment recorded 46.9% revenue growth, with profits nearly doubling due to improved performance across businesses including IT services, real estate, hospitality, defence, logistics and renewable energy.

The company did not disclose vehicle sales volumes, tractor sales figures or market share details in its quarterly filing.
