The Indian government is considering strict action against individuals accused of participating in violent protests linked to the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), including the possible cancellation of their passports. According to sources, authorities are also examining additional legal measures against those allegedly involved in attacks on police personnel and public disorder.
The unrest began after CJP supporters launched a Parliament march despite Delhi Police denying permission for the demonstration. Protesters allegedly ignored prohibitory orders and attempted to breach security barricades, leading to clashes with security forces. Police responded with baton charges to disperse the crowd, while thousands of police and paramilitary personnel were deployed across central Delhi to control the situation. Several protesters were detained as tensions escalated.
The demonstrations have since spread beyond the national capital, drawing attention from students and youth across different parts of the country. Political observers believe opposition parties are attempting to capitalize on the growing unrest, prompting the central government to adopt a tougher stance against violence while addressing the protesters' core concerns.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that question paper leaks are a "serious crime" and assured students that safeguarding their future remains the government's highest priority. He announced that the government is moving ahead with reforms aimed at ensuring accountability in examination-related offences.
To speed up justice, the Prime Minister said Fast Track Courts will be established to ensure swift trials and strict punishment for those responsible for examination paper leaks. In a message shared on social media, he stated that all concerned departments have been instructed to take immediate action. He emphasized that the government would not tolerate anyone attempting to undermine students' futures and promised stronger measures to protect the integrity of the country's education system.
