"Freedom does not mean the right to do anything one wishes," Doval said, stressing that individual liberty must be accompanied by responsibility, discipline, and commitment to the nation. He appealed to young people to make sacrifices for the country's progress whenever required and to place collective welfare above narrow personal interests.
His remarks come against the backdrop of recent demonstrations by sections of Gen Z protesters at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The protests have triggered political debate, with supporters of the ruling alliance questioning their objectives, while critics maintain they were expressions of democratic dissent.
