CJP Ends Jantar Mantar Protest After Centre Accepts All Key Demands Officially

After a series of negotiations with Union ministers, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced the withdrawal of its 36-day Jantar Mantar protest, claiming the Central Government had accepted all of its key demands, including assurances on legal action, compensation, and education-related reforms.

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has officially called off its 36-day sit-in protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar after claiming that the Central Government agreed to all of its principal demands. The announcement followed a third round of discussions between CJP representatives and Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh at the Constitution Club on Saturday.

Speaking at a joint press briefing after the meeting, CJP chief spokesperson Sourav Das and national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the decision to withdraw the protest was taken in good faith following assurances from the government. They expressed confidence that the agreed commitments would be implemented within the promised timeframe.

The protest movement began after allegations of irregularities in the NEET examination and gradually attracted students, professionals, and citizens from different backgrounds. Since June 20, demonstrators had maintained a continuous peaceful sit-in at Jantar Mantar, demanding accountability and reforms in the education system.

Earlier in the day, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned, fulfilling one of the movement's key demands. CJP leaders also stated that the government had agreed to ensure that no legal action would be pursued against protesters and that compensation would be provided to families affected by the alleged NEET paper leak controversy, in accordance with official procedures.

The organisation submitted a formal proposal outlining additional reforms and said future discussions with the government would continue. While ending the protest, CJP leaders emphasised that the decision was reached through dialogue rather than compromise, describing it as a democratic outcome achieved through peaceful public participation and sustained civic engagement.
