Centre Agrees Talks As JP Nadda Meets Cockroach Party Amid Protests Today

The Central Government has reportedly agreed to hold discussions with representatives of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) amid its ongoing protest march toward Parliament in New Delhi. According to CJP leaders, Union Minister and BJP president J.P. Nadda reached out to the organisation and agreed to meet its representatives to discuss their demands.

CJP spokespersons Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka said they were invited for talks after the government contacted them on Monday morning. The party claimed that thousands of young protesters had gathered in support of their movement, demanding action against alleged corruption in education and the NEET examination paper leak controversy.

Meanwhile, activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a prolonged hunger strike, expressed his desire to join the Parliament march. Currently admitted to Safdarjung Hospital after being taken into custody from the protest site, Wangchuk submitted a letter to hospital authorities requesting temporary permission to leave the facility and participate in the demonstration. He stated that his health indicators were stable and that he was fit enough to attend the march.

Images of Wangchuk's letter were shared on social media, where supporters questioned why he was not being allowed to leave if he was not officially under detention. His wife has also approached the Delhi High Court seeking his transfer to another hospital, though her initial plea was rejected.

The Parliament march witnessed the participation of nearly 10,000 demonstrators. Several hunger strikers ended their fast following Wangchuk's appeal, while all eyes remain on the outcome of the government’s talks with CJP leaders.
