Bandhan Bank has launched 'Cyber Cop', a nationwide cyber awareness campaign under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to encourage safer digital practices and combat the growing threat of online fraud. The campaign is presented in association with Hindustan Times and implemented by Aident Welfare Social Organisation, with filmmaker Rohit Shetty joining as the campaign ambassador.
The initiative focuses on educating people about cyber hygiene through awareness films, public outreach programs, and informative messaging. At the heart of the campaign is the simple yet powerful message: “Pause. Verify. Report.” Citizens are encouraged to stay alert while conducting online transactions and immediately report suspicious activities through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or the 1930 cyber fraud helpline.
The campaign comes at a crucial time as cybercrime continues to rise sharply across India. Reports indicate that online fraud caused financial losses worth thousands of crores in 2025, while cybercrime complaints crossed the 24-lakh mark, highlighting the urgent need for greater public awareness.
Rohit Shetty's association adds a unique dimension to the campaign by connecting the idea of law enforcement with the digital world. Inspired by his popular police-themed films, the campaign portrays cybercrime as a modern threat that exists within smartphones, computers, and digital transactions rather than only on the streets.
Bandhan Bank stated that Cyber Cop aims to empower citizens with practical knowledge to recognize online scams, verify information before taking action, and report incidents without delay. By promoting responsible digital behaviour, the initiative seeks to create a safer online environment and strengthen cyber awareness across communities throughout India.
