Reliance Jio has marked a decade in the Indian telecom market with a special offer aimed at feature-phone users, particularly those still relying on 2G services. Under the promotional scheme, customers purchasing a JioBharat 4G feature phone and completing their first recharge can receive six months of voice and data services without making another recharge during the offer period.
The offer is available with select JioBharat 4G models, including the A1, B1, B2 and B3. According to the company’s announcement cited in the report, customers need to purchase an eligible handset for Rs 1,499 and make an initial recharge of Rs 123. After completing the required recharge, the same Jio SIM must remain in the purchased handset to continue receiving the promotional benefits.
The six-month package includes 14GB of data every month, unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS messages per month. The promotional offer is available until October 20, allowing customers to purchase the device and activate the benefits before the deadline.
Jio has also announced a separate six-month option for existing 2G feature-phone users who normally recharge for Rs 199 every month. Instead of paying monthly, eligible users can pay Rs 1,200 upfront for six months. The package includes calling, data and SMS benefits, along with access to services such as JioTV, JioHotstar and JioPay.
Customers can purchase the eligible JioBharat phones through both online and offline channels. The company’s anniversary initiative is aimed at encouraging feature-phone users to move towards affordable 4G connectivity while offering bundled digital services.
