India Women will look to strengthen their lead in the three-match T20I series when they face Zimbabwe Women in the second match in Raipur on Sunday, October 18. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 PM IST at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. India lead the series 1-0 after winning the opening match by four wickets.
The first match was not an easy outing for India. Chasing a target of 115, the team lost four wickets for just 19 runs and came under pressure early in the innings. However, experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma and young batter Niki Prasad joined hands to turn the game around. Deepti scored 49 runs, while Niki made an important contribution on her international debut. Their 82-run partnership helped India reach the target with 26 balls remaining.
Captain Smriti Mandhana will expect a stronger start from the top order in the second match. India’s bowlers will also aim to keep Zimbabwe’s batters under control and give the team a solid platform.
The T20I series consists of three matches, all scheduled in Raipur. The third T20I will be played on October 20. The series will be followed by a three-match ODI series in Vadodara.
Fans can watch the match live on the Star Sports Network, with online streaming available on JioHotstar.
