Pakistan Boosts Military Presence Near Sir Creek, India Issues Warning

Tensions are rising around the disputed Sir Creek area along the Gujarat–Pakistan border, with reports claiming that Pakistan has increased military deployments and surveillance capabilities in the region. Reports also point to the presence of specialised naval forces, drones, hovercraft and air-defence systems. India is closely monitoring the developments amid renewed concerns over security along the Arabian Sea coast.

Tensions along the Gujarat–Pakistan maritime frontier are once again drawing attention, with reports claiming that Pakistan has intensified its military activities around the disputed Sir Creek region.

According to reports, Islamabad has increased the deployment of troops and military equipment in the muddy and strategically sensitive area. The reported buildup includes specialised naval forces, surveillance assets and equipment designed for operations across shallow coastal terrain.

Pakistan’s Naval Special Service Group commandos are reportedly being deployed in the region. These forces are trained for high-risk missions involving maritime, land and aerial operations. Reports further claim that drones supplied by Turkey and Chinese-made hovercraft capable of operating in shallow and muddy waters have also been positioned in the area.

Several naval checkpoints have reportedly been established near Bandha Dhora and Harami Dhora. Pakistan is also said to have strengthened its air-defence capabilities and coordinated them with its rocket forces.

There are further claims that coastal defence boats, marine assault craft, high-speed patrol boats and naval vessels have been moved towards the Sir Creek area. Some reports have linked the broader military preparations to increased Chinese defence cooperation with Pakistan.

India has previously warned Islamabad against increasing military activity around Sir Creek. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had said that any attempt to escalate tensions in the region could have serious consequences for Pakistan.

The latest developments are being closely monitored by Indian security agencies. While there has been no confirmed indication of an imminent military confrontation, the reported deployment has renewed concerns over the strategically important coastal frontier.

Sir Creek remains a longstanding territorial dispute between India and Pakistan, making any military buildup in the area particularly sensitive.
