Yemen’s Houthi rebels have launched drone and missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, raising security concerns in Riyadh and other parts of the country. Saudi authorities said three people were killed and 36 others injured in attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha Airport.
The victims were reportedly citizens of Sudan, Morocco and Algeria. No Indian casualties have been reported so far.
On Thursday, the Houthis again claimed to have targeted Riyadh airport with a ballistic missile. Several explosions were heard across Riyadh. The Saudi-led coalition said two missiles fired towards the capital were intercepted and destroyed in the air.
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has issued an advisory asking Indian citizens to remain alert and stay indoors if necessary. Indians have also been advised not to record or share videos and information related to the attacks.
For emergency assistance, Indian citizens can contact the PBSK helpline at 8002471234. The Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah are continuing their normal operations.
Amid the security situation, Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo have cancelled their Riyadh flights until October 10. Passengers affected by the cancellations can reschedule their journeys without additional charges or seek a full refund.
