India’s AI Drone ‘Kal Bhairav’ Raises China-Pakistan Security Concerns
India has taken a major step in next-generation warfare with the development of an artificial intelligence-based attack drone named “Kal Bhairav.” The advanced unmanned combat aerial vehicle has reportedly been designed by a Bengaluru-based defence technology company for the Indian Army. Equipped with intelligent targeting systems and autonomous operational capability, the drone is expected to significantly enhance India’s surveillance and strike strength along sensitive borders.
According to defence sources, the drone can identify hostile movements, track targets, and execute precision attacks with minimal human intervention. The project has already drawn attention from strategic experts because of its potential impact on regional security dynamics involving China and Pakistan. Officials believe the drone could become a critical force multiplier for Indian armed forces in difficult terrains and high-risk combat zones.
Interestingly, commercial production of the drone is planned in Portugal, a European country historically associated with notorious sea pirates known as “Harmads” during the 16th and 17th centuries. Defence analysts see the international manufacturing partnership as part of India’s growing global defence collaboration strategy.
The development comes amid increasing global reliance on AI-powered military systems. Experts say “Kal Bhairav” could place India among a select group of nations investing heavily in autonomous warfare technologies. The announcement has already generated strong reactions across defence circles and social media platforms.
