Mahua Moitra on Thursday filed a formal complaint with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), alleging harassment by a group of passengers during an IndiGo flight to Delhi, as per reports.
The Trinamool Congress MP claimed that several men onboard flight 6E 719 shouted slogans targeting the party and recorded videos of her inside the aircraft, sparking a fresh political controversy amid heightened tensions following the BJP’s victory in West Bengal.
According to Moitra, the incident occurred after the flight had landed but before passengers were allowed to exit the plane. She was travelling to Delhi to attend a meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on defence. In a post shared on X, she alleged that the group created a hostile atmosphere by raising slogans and filming her on their mobile phones.
