In a surprise move ahead of International Women’s Day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the financial benefits of the 'Yubashree' (Yuba Sathi) scheme will begin hitting bank accounts today, Saturday—weeks ahead of the originally scheduled date of April 1st.
Speaking from the protest stage at Dharmatala, the Chief Minister described the early disbursement as a special "gift" to the youth of Bengal on the eve of Women’s Day.
Ending the wait for many, the Chief Minister declared that funds for the 'Yubashree' (Yubasathi) scheme will begin rolling into the bank accounts of beneficiaries starting this Saturday. This move is being presented as a special "gift" from the state government to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day.
During the announcement, the Chief Minister provided specific details regarding the volume of applications and the reach of the scheme: A massive number of applications have been processed, reflecting the state's commitment to supporting its youth. The funds will be transferred directly to the verified bank accounts of the applicants to ensure transparency and speed. The scheme continues to serve as a financial cushion for unemployed youth while they seek stable employment or vocational training.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee emphasized that while the timing coincides with International Women's Day—a day for celebrating empowerment—it is also a day to strengthen the hands of the future generation. By releasing these funds, the state aims to provide immediate financial relief to those enrolled in the Employment Bank.
