The Tollywood industry has been buzzing for the past few days over the "work-stoppage" involving powerhouse actor Anirban Bhattacharya. Speculations were rife about how far the conflict between the Federation and directors/actors would escalate. Finally, there is a glimmer of hope. It seems the impasse regarding Anirban’s return to the sets is finally clearing.
The incident reportedly began with a heated argument between Anirban and Federation technicians on a shooting floor. The situation escalated to the point where rumors of a "ban" or work-stoppage against Anirban started circulating. Top-tier stars like Dev, Subhashree Ganguly, Raj Chakraborty, and Srijit Mukherji stepped in to support their colleague, publicly expressing regret on his behalf and urging the Federation to settle the matter. Initially, however, the Federation remained firm.
All eyes were on Federation President Swarup Biswas. In a recent statement, he hinted at a resolution, saying: "Our fight is not against any specific individual, but rather to ensure the respect of our technicians and the protection of industry rules. Anirban is a highly talented actor. Since senior members of the industry have stepped forward and discussions have taken place, we are also looking at this positively. We hope the deadlock will be resolved soon."
Following this statement, insiders suggest that the distance between the Federation and the actor has significantly narrowed. Anirban is expected to return to the floors very soon.
