In a landmark address at the International AI Summit held at Pragati Maidan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined India's dual-track approach to the Artificial Intelligence revolution. Emphasizing that technology should be a tool for human empowerment rather than a replacement for human intelligence, the Prime Minister advocated for an "Open Sky" policy for innovation while introducing the ‘MANAV’ (Human) Project to ensure ethical safeguards.

The Prime Minister signaled that India is ready to lead the global AI wave without restrictive barriers. "We must provide an open sky for AI to flourish. There should be no limits to innovation that can transform lives," he stated. From healthcare and agriculture to education and startups, PM Modi urged the global community to harness AI as the primary engine for the next decade of growth.

While championing progress, the Prime Minister was firm about the need for a "remote control" held by humans. He introduced the ‘MANAV’ initiative, a strategic framework designed to keep AI within the boundaries of human ethics. Key pillars of the project include: Ensuring that AI remains a subordinate tool to human judgment and creativity. Protecting the privacy of citizens and preventing the weaponization of personal data. Making AI decision-making processes explainable and accountable.

The Prime Minister also addressed the darker side of technology, specifically highlighting the risks of Deepfakes and cyber warfare. He called for a global consensus on AI governance, suggesting that technology without a moral compass could destabilize societies. The 'MANAV' project, he noted, is India’s answer to ensuring that AI serves humanity rather than dominating it.
